iPhoto
Here is to hoping iPhoto will get launched at MacWorld and it will include geotagging.  That would be an instant buy for me.

Applescripting iPhoto from Cocoa
AppleScript never has appealed to me much.  I don’t understand it because it tries to look like natural language and when I try to write natural language AppleScript doesn’t understand what I’m trying to do.  So I ended up fiddling with Script Editor until I got something that was understood by the Scripting system but that would usually be a frustrating experience. Today I...

Streamripper on OS X - success
Success!  I installed streamripper by downloading the official gtk framework which gets installed as a system wide framework and hacking in Makefiles so that the streamripper source compiles and links to it.  Test rips are being produced as I write this.  It only took like… two hours to get it installed.  User friendly?  Hm…

Streamripper on OS X
Today I’m trying to install streamripper on my iMac.  Leopard, Mac OS X 10.5.4 Option 1/ Installing from source: ./configure ok make gives srtypes.h:20:18: error: glib.h: No such file or directory turns out you need glib, which I don’t. Option 2/ Installing using fink I remember using fink, loved it.  After a cumbersome installation process it doesn’t find the package.  Yes,...

Nokia N97 pictures →
The most depressing part of this phone is that it is an illustration of how there are so few companies that think outside the box.  It is clear that if there were no such thing as an iPhone this phone would not have had a chance to make it to the market.  The device itself might be good or great, the fact of the matter is: I don’t care.  Why aren’t they using their imagination?  Why...

the only way I found to distinguish between ppc and i386 in your code … for like, when you want to write assembly code, you know … is to go through the list of all defined macros. Turns out i386 is #defined for i386 and _ARCH_PPC is #defined for ppc.
